I’m Laura Steinmetz

she/her/hers

Laura Steinmetz is a dedicated supporter of the arts, an advocate for inclusivity, and a seasoned mortgage compliance professional with 20 years of experience. A mother of three, she has been deeply involved in community organizations, particularly in the Twin Cities dance and LGBTQ+ communities. 

Raised in Burnsville, Laura returned to her hometown in 2020, continuing her commitment to community engagement. She currently serves as the Vice President of Burnsville Pride, a newly formed nonprofit dedicated to fostering inclusivity and celebrating LGBTQ+ identities. Since October 2021, she has also been the President of the Board for the Twin Cities Tap Festival, where she helps promote and sustain the vibrant tap dance scene. Previously, she served as the Treasurer and Vice President of the Board from August 2018 to October 2021, overseeing financial planning and organizational growth. 

Her leadership extends to youth dance programs as well, having served on the Board for the Shakopee Dance Team Booster Club from September 2014 to June 2018, supporting young dancers and team development. 

Professionally, Laura has spent two decades in mortgage compliance, bringing expertise in regulatory compliance, risk management, and financial integrity. Her ability to blend financial acumen with her passion for the arts and advocacy work has made her a respected leader in the organizations she serves. Laura lives in South River Hills with her partner Daniel, her son Bobby and their 2 dogs and 2 cats.
